The Cleveland Browns have a new backup quarterback and veteran mentor for Baker Mayfield. Cleveland agreed to terms on a free agent deal with former Washington Redskins starter Case Keenum on Monday.
The deal will be made official on Wednesday. Reports indicate Keenum will join the Browns for three years and $18 million, with $10 million guaranteed.
It reunites Keenum with new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski. The two had a magical season together in Minnesota in 2017. Keenum went 11-3 as a starter, completing over 67 percent of his passes with 22 TDs against seven INTs.
The Browns will be Keenum’s seventh NFL franchise in as many seasons. The 32-year-old started eight games in Washington last season before giving way to first-round pick Dwayne Haskins.
