Who among us hasn’t pretended to step onto a court in front of a screaming crowd?
Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant is just like the rest of us.
The difference is, he actually knows the sound of a roaring audience excited to see him. He misses that, as he misses stepping onto a basketball court and embarrassing opponents with his crazy passes or athletic drives to the rim.
Morant is passing the time during this suspension in play the way so many of us are, and they way some of his peers in the NBA are doing it: by making TikTok videos.

It’s some shared nostalgia from the young star in the middle of season in which he’s the Rookie of the Year favorite.
NBA league play is suspended at least 30 days and will almost definitely be longer. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that owners and executives are preparing for a three-month break in action as a best-case scenario.
Until that’s back, these Gen Z players can act like normal, everyday people in their age group: just messing around with fun videos on social media.
