Minnesota has reached a two-year agreement with quarterback Kirk Cousins, according to a report.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Cousins and the Vikings have reached an agreement.
There’s no official word yet about how much money the deal will be. If you’re a Vikings fan, you’re probably hoping for a smaller hit to the salary cap this season. But Cousins is coming off a very good 2019-20, so it’s hard to determine what the final figures will be.
It was previously reported by ESPN that Cousins and the Vikings were having trouble agreeing on a number when it came to the extension. I’m glad the two were able to work it out relatively quickly this offseason. That way, the Vikings can be buyers in the free agency market if the deal is for less money. If not, at least Minnesota knows what it’s dealing with for the next couple of years, and can free up space elsewhere.
