Report: three teams interested in Tom Brady ahead of free agency

The desire for a 42-year-old quarterback in the NFL isn’t that high — even if it is Tom Brady.

The desire for a 42-year-old quarterback in the NFL isn’t that high — even if it is Tom Brady.

After 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, Brady is set to hit the market and negotiations can begin at noon ET on Monday. Although the new CBA passed, making it easier for New England to re-sign him, both parties reportedly aren’t close to a deal.

So, who’s still in the running for Brady?

The Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Patriots are the three teams still in the loop as of now, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“There are some teams we know are going to be interested,” Rapoport said. “The Los Angeles Chargers, it’s really not been a surprise. We’ve talked about it since the Super Bowl. They’re expected to make a bit of a run at Tom Brady. The Tampa Bay Bucs are another team that have some interest in Brady. Other than that, it seems to be the Patriots who have the most interest.”

The Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans all seem to be out of the running for Brady. Fortunately for everyone in New England, his longtime team has the most interest in striking a deal. The Patriots have already brought back Josh McDaniels, Nick Caserio, Devin McCourty and Matthew Slater.

The team is shaping up to be in excellent shape for next season, maybe conniving Brady even more to return back to Foxborough.
