Michigan State football cancels spring game amid coronavirus pandemic

There will be no spring game for MSU football this year.

Michigan State football has canceled its spring game according to a program spokesperson.

The annual green and white game was originally scheduled for April 18. The cancellation comes as COVID-19, the coronavirus, spreads across the world.

The news is more of a clerical confirmation as the Big Ten announced yesterday that all athletics would be suspended until the end of the academic year. Today the conference said they would reassess competitive team activities on April 6. The NCAA has announced an indefinite nation-wide recruiting dead period.

Earlier in the day Friday Michigan State announced they would also be canceling their NFL pro day, which was scheduled for March 18.
