The Tennessee Titans were one of the best tackling teams in the NFL in 2019, according to Pro Football Focus.
Based on their grading system, the Titans finished with an overall tackling mark of 80.6, the second-best in the league last season.

That stat would be pure eye candy for Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who was a solid linebacker in his own right during his playing days.
Tennessee’s defense looked dominant early in the season, but thanks to some injuries and inconsistency, this unit was more of a bend-but-don’t-break group as the season progressed.
The Titans’ defense finished with per-game rankings of No. 21 in total yards allowed, No. 24 in passing yards allowed and No. 12 in rushing yards allowed. Even still, Tennessee owned the No. 12 scoring defense.
Speaking of tackling, the team’s leading tackler from last season, Logan Ryan, could be playing elsewhere in 2020, as he is set to hit the open market this offseason and a recent report suggests the Titans won’t bring him back.
There will be other changes to the Titans’ defense during the offseason, but the players that are sure to stick around make up a solid core of young players that are on the rise and could be even better in 2020.
