The Green Bay Packers now have a passing game coordinator on Matt LaFleur’s staff, and they finally have a new wide receivers coach.
The team announced the promotion of Luke Getsy to passing game coordinator and named Jason Vrable as the new wide receivers coach, replacing Alvis Whitted, who was let go in January.
Getsy will remain the quarterbacks coach, a role he handled for LaFleur last season. He’ll now assist LaFleur, Vrable and the rest of the offense in coordinating Aaron Rodgers and the passing game.
Vrable was an offensive assistant for the Packers last season. He’ll now be the primary coach for a position expected to undergo a significant change this offseason.
The Packers also officially named Butch Barry to a senior assistant role on offense. A Wisconsin native, he was previously the assistant offensive line coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2015-18).
