On the same day it was decided the Brooklyn Nets’ game in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors would be the first NBA contest where fans wouldn’t be allowed to attend, the league was forced to suspend all games until further notice.
The decision was made by the league when a Utah Jazz player preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. Multiple reports indicate the player who tested positive was Utah’s All-Star center, Rudy Gobert.
The league going on hiatus has an impact on a lot of things. There are the workers employed by the arenas. Then there are the players who’ve been around Gobert and fans who’ve been around players.
One other thing this could lead to is the abrupt end of a Hall of Fame career. Vince Carter was expected to retire at the end of the 2019-20 season. With Carter’s team, the Atlanta Hawks, being at the bottom of the Eastern Conference Standings, Carter’s final game should have been on April 15.
But not no one knows when games will be played again. So this could be the Ex-Nets superstar’s final shot of his NBA career:
