Tennessee Titans go EDGE, OT, EDGE in CBS Sports 3-round mock draft

A three-round CBS Sports mock draft has the Titans going in an unusual direction.

A recently-released three-round mock draft is, well, interesting as it pertains to the picks for the Tennessee Titans.

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards has the Titans taking two edge rushers and one offensive tackle in the first three rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Here are the picks, as well as Edwards’ write-up for the one in the first round:

Round 1 (No. 29): Zack Baun, EDGE, Wisconsin

“Baun has the versatility to play on the edge or move inside,” Edwards writes. “His high football IQ should be intriguing for Mike Vrabel, who played the position at a high level for 14 seasons.”

Round 2 (No. 61): Jack Driscoll, OT, Auburn

Round 3 (No. 93): Bradlee Anae, EDGE, Utah

While the Titans are likely to be looking at drafting an EDGE and offensive tackle in the first three rounds of the draft, I’m not sure going with two pass-rushers in that span is the right move.

From everything we’ve seen, Baun has been billed as an EDGE prospect, but even if he has the versatility to move to the inside, the Titans are already fully stocked there with Jayon Brown, Rashaan Evans and David Long Jr.

It wouldn’t do Tennessee much good to add yet another guy who can play on the inside. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be thrilled with either Baun in the first or Anae in the third, but not both.

Driscol would be a solid fit for the Titans, as the team must start looking ahead to options at right tackle with Jack Conklin likely moving on in free agency.

For this particular mock, I would have liked to see the Titans replace one of those pass-rushers with either a cornerback or running back.
