Another CeeDee-Lamb-to-the-Cardinals mock draft

Check out who is the latest to make this prediction.

Who will be the player for the Arizona Cardinals they select eighth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft? Mock drafts have all sorts of projections, but one player consistently connected to the team is Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

We have yet another mock draft that projects him as the pick for the Cardinals at No. 8 overall.

The latest is from The Draft Network’s Kyle Crabbs.

This continues to be pretty straight forward for me. The Arizona Cardinals signed offensive tackle D.J. Humphries to an extension so that this team was free to pick the best asset to complement its young signal-caller, Kyler Murray. That is, unequivocally, CeeDee Lamb.

Linebacker Isaiah Simmons is off the board and so is offensive lineman Mekhi Becton. The Cardinals have their choice of all the receivers and all the linemen except for Becton.

Linemen Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills go 10th and 11th overall.

There is very little to be said as to why the Cardinals shouldn’t take Lamb. He has a connection with Murray. He has all the traits the Cardinals are seeking in a receiver. He will make an impact immediately and will also impact the other receivers on the team.

And if the Cardinals acquire a tackle in free agency to start, it wouldn’t make sense to draft a tackle in the top 10 only to sit him on the bench.

Lamb would help the offense and make Murray happy. There isn’t much downside to that.
