The Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, announced on Monday morning the acquisition of 21-year-old LiAngelo Ball.
Ball, the middle brother of Lonzo and LaMelo, joined the Blue in December as a practice player and has been working out with the team since then. Ball was sent a G League contract last week and was expected to soon join the Blue.
Ball originally committed to play collegiately at UCLA but eventually withdrew in December 2017 after his role in a shoplifting incident with the school in China. He played alongside LaMelo in Lithuania for one season and also played in the now-defunct Junior Basketball Association.

Ball went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft but garnered enough interest from various teams for a workout, including the Los Angeles Lakers, which employed his brother, Lonzo, at the time.
The G League regular season concludes on March 28 and the final nine games on the schedule could give the organization an opportunity to see Ball back on the court.
The Blue play next on the road Wednesday against the Stockton Kings.
