Dennis Schroder’s late heroics lift Thunder to 105-104 win in Boston

The Thunder ended their three-game road trip on a very high note in Boston on Sunday.

The Thunder keep rolling.

After defeating the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks in the first two games of the team’s Eastern Conference road trip, on Sunday, Chris Paul and company made it three straight with a tough win over the Boston Celtics.

CP3 turned in a 28-point, six-rebound, seven-assist effort while Dennis Schroder gave the team 27 points off the bench. In the end, it was enough to overcome a 24-point night from Gordon Hayward. The Thunder prevailed by a final score of 105-104, but not without some drama.

The teams battled back-and-forth throughout the fourth quarter before Jayson Tatum (19 points, five rebounds) gave the Celtics 104-103 lead in the game’s final minute. On the ensuing possession, however, Schroder — who led the team in scoring — managed to strip Kemba Walker of the ball and score what would become the game-winning basket with just 8.5 seconds remaining in the contest.

Aside from helping the Thunder move to 3-0 on their road trip, the club is now 7-2 in the nine contests they’ve played since the All-Star break.

They will return to Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday night when they play host to the Utah Jazz.
