Boston Celtics rookie center Vincent Poirier had himself a night with the Maine Red Claws on Friday.
The French big man was sent to the team’s G League affiliate with teammate Carsen Edwards, and scored 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks over 34 minutes of play in a narrow 102-101 loss to the Grand Rapids Drive, the developmental affiliate of the Detroit Pistons.
Poirier even attempted a 3-pointer, though it didn’t go in.
Edwards and two way fan favorite center Tacko Fall did not play in the contest, the latter because of an unnamed foot injury.
However, Celtics two way point guard Tremont Waters did.
While the Connecticut native didn´t have an outstanding night, he did an excellent job of setting up his teammates with eight assists despite going 2-of-11 from the floor and 1-of-7 from beyond the arc for just 5 points.
The Red Claws next face the Windy City Bulls at the Portland Expo Building on Sunday, March 8 at 1pm, and can be seen streaming on Twitch.
