Chiefs favored to win AFC West for fifth consecutive season

It’d be the first time in history that the Chiefs have won five consecutive AFC West titles.

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting a bit more respect from Las Vegas during the offseason following their Super Bowl LIV win.

Kansas City is currently listed as the most likely team to win the AFC West in the 2020 NFL season, with odds at -500 (1/5) via BetMGM. These are the best odds that any team in the NFL has to win their respective division. The New England Patriots come in at -304 (25/76) to win the AFC East.

The Chiefs have been the top dog in the AFC West for four consecutive seasons dating back to the 2016 season when Alex Smith was still at quarterback. Fresh off a Super Bowl victory, Kansas City is favored to win the AFC West for a fifth consecutive season.

If they did win another AFC West title in 2020, It’d mark the first time in franchise history that they’ve won the division in five consecutive seasons. Both the Denver Broncos (2011-15) and Oakland Raiders (1972-76) have accomplished five consecutive wins once in the history of the AFC West. If the Chiefs could would the division in both 2020 and 2021, they’d become the first team in AFC West history to win the title for six consecutive seasons.

Interestingly, enough the quarterback-less Chargers have the second-best odds to win the AFC West at +700 (7/1). They’re followed by the Raiders at +1000 (10/1) and the Broncos +1200 (12/1).
