Rob Gronkowski probably knows how Tom Brady feels. Last season, the media scrutinized Gronk’s every move, wondering whether he intended to return to the New England Patriots. Gronk stayed retired, which meant the drama lasted all the way up to the deadline for his return.
This offseason, Brady is entrenched in free agency drama. Will he leave the Patriots? Where might he sign? Gronk doesn’t know. But he’s enjoying the show.
“Yeah, and it makes it interesting. It does make it fun,” Gronkowski told reporters, via WBZ’s Scott Sullivan. “‘Where is he going?’ I understand people stress out over it, but if you look at it the other way it’s kind of fun. ‘He’s going there one day and he’s going to another team the next day.’ Man, it’s crazy.
“I was hoping he would end up in the XFL with a He Hate Me jersey.”

Brady and the Patriots touched base this week, but the discussions didn’t go far, according to multiple reports. Brady said he’s going to spend the next two weeks on vacation. He’ll return in time for March 16 when the NFL tampering window opens, and he can begin to talk to other teams, if the Patriots haven’t come to an agreement on an extension with the veteran quarterback.
It seems the madness is only getting started, with two more weeks until free agency begins. If Brady hits the open market, it could be bedlam.
