Kevin Porter Jr. left Cavs’ game early Wednesday with a head injury

The first-round pick logged just 10 minutes on Wednesday prior to exiting the game early with an injury.

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Kevin Porter Jr. suffered a head injury Wednesday night in the first quarter against the Boston Celtics and did not return to the court.

The first-round pick was a late scratch from the starting lineup after he realized he wasn’t wearing his jersey. The revelation was discovered just prior to tipoff as he took off his warmup suit and realized his jersey was not on.

Porter eventually checked in at the 10:11 mark of the first quarter but his night didn’t last much longer as he eventually exited with what the team called a head injury. He recorded one point and two rebounds in 10 minutes of action.

The full details of the injury are not known and it is unclear when Porter initially started to experience discomfort. The Cavaliers play next on Saturday as an update will likely come beforehand.

Porter is averaging 10 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 50 games this season with the Cavaliers.
