The Cincinnati Bengals view three quarterbacks as “top five worthy” in the 2020 NFL draft and will see all three live at their respective pro days.

Those passers are LSU’s Joe Burrow, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert.

Here’s Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com explaining the travel plans for Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan:

“He’s already set for Baton Rouge on April 3 to see Burrow, for Tuscaloosa on April 9 to see Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and later this month for Eugene, Ore., to see Oregon’s Justin Herbert. He’ll also visit a bunch of wide receivers, but he wants to make sure he sees the top three quarterbacks in the draft throw live. He says all three are top five worthy.”

As Callahan notes, it’s important to do homework on all three — just in case: “Say someone does offer you a bunch of picks. You have to have done enough homework to feel good about making that decision. You can’t go into it set on doing just one thing.”

It’s hard to envision a reality where the Bengals don’t take Burrow at first overall. But as team personnel continues to stress, due diligence is part of the process in the sprint to the draft.

That means checking in on all three top passers. Callahan and Co., for what it’s worth, weren’t upset Burrow and Tagovailoa didn’t throw at the combine, as they noted they’d rather see them throw to their own guys at pro days anyway.
