Whether he was shutting down narratives about wanting to play for the Cincinnati Bengals or impressing NFL personnel in closed-door interviews, there’s no question Joe Burrow emerged as one of the most impressive stories from the 2020 combine.
In the majority of his media appearances over the last six months or so, Burrow has come off as smooth as he does while navigating a messy pocket.
So much so, it isn’t a surprise to hear one NFL executive might’ve mentioned him in the same breath as Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson, per Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman.
Pretty much anywhere one looks, the biggest notes from Indianapolis say Burrow shocked most — to the point there doesn’t even seem to be the usual negative whisper here or there as other teams perhaps hope Burrow takes an unexpected fall.
Bengals fans would like if Burrow developed into a Manning or Wilson at the pro level of course. But his carrying the same demeanor is at least the first step toward realizing such a lofty idea.
I'm getting more info on what some teams think of Joe Burrow the guy. One team executive said the two most remarkable people he's ever met in the NFL were Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. He put Burrow in that same category: "A truly impressive person."
