A week after Viktor Hovland won the Puerto Rico Open, he believed that some of his iron shots were floating and being pushed excessively by the wind.
On Monday at Bay Hill in advance of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he worked with Ping, which made him a new set of i210 irons that are ¼-inch shorter than his old set.
The Norwegian said that as he stands over the ball, the clubs feel noticeably shorter, but in a good way.
He found that he struck shots more solidly, he could flight them well and that the irons produced a more-piercing trajectory.
He also had Ping make him a new, shorter i410 LST driver.
Expect both the irons and the driver to be in the bag when Hovland plays the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week.
