Zion Williamson, Coby White named Rookies of the Month for February

Williamson and White led the rookie class in scoring, respectively, during the month of February.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson and Chicago Bulls guard Coby White have been named the NBA Rookies of the Month for February, the league announced on Tuesday.

Williamson averaged 25.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in nine February games while he shot 56.3% from the field. The No. 1 overall pick has scored at least 20 points in 11 consecutive games, the most-ever by a teenager.

Meanwhile, White averaged 20.1 points, 4.1 assists and four rebounds in February. He shot 45.3% from the field, including 41.1% from 3-point range as he became the first rookie in NBA history to record at least 30 points in three straight games as a reserve.

The two players led the rookie class in scoring during the month.

Prior to February, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn took home Rookie of the Month honors each of the three times it was rewarded.

February marked the first full month of action for Williamson after debuting in January while White recently caught fire after having an inconsistent rookie campaign.
