The Los Angeles Lakers finish off their three-game road trip tonight looking for a bit of redemption after last night’s loss against the Memphis Grizzlies, while also trying to dampen the chances of their Sunday night opponents, the New Orleans Pelicans, to make the postseason. Sunday will also be the second matchup this week against the Pelicans and Zion Williamson. The first matchup featured a season-high 40 points from LeBron in one of his most dominant performances of the season so far.
Williamson, too, was excellent in the first matchup. Williamson had 29 points and 10 rebounds in the first game on Tuesday, which should set up another excellent game tonight. The Pelicans are still in a great position to make the playoffs and while a loss to the Lakers won’t hurt them too much in theory, they are in a playoff battle for the No. 8 spot in the West where everything matters.
Anthony Davis, who was 6 for 21 in Tuesday’s win against the Pelicans, will definitely be looking to have a better performance than the one he had earlier in the week.
