The Bears have made it clear that they’re looking to add quarterbacks to their roster this offseason.
While Chicago is reportedly searching hard for an experienced veteran to challenge incumbent starter Mitchell Trubisky, they could also turn to the NFL Draft for a young prospect.
Perhaps that guy is Florida International’s James Morgan, who quietly had a solid outing at the NFL Scouting Combine.
One of the teams that have shown the most interest in Morgan are the Bears, according to Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports.
FIU QB James Morgan had a good combine week. Teams appearing to show most interest include Bears, Packers, Bucs, Jets, Panthers, Colts. Earning some Kirk Cousins comps

This wouldn’t be the first time the Bears have shown interest in Morgan. They met with him back at the Senior Bowl, and you have to assume they met with him at the NFL Combine.
The Bears are projected to have eight draft picks — including two second rounders — and they have no shortage of needs to address on their roster. Tight end, offensive line, edge rusher and the secondary rank at the top of the list.
While quarterback is most assuredly an issue for Chicago, they’re not expected to use one of their high picks to take one. Which means they’ll be looking to draft a quarterback in the later rounds.
Morgan has quite the arm along with good size and mobility that make him an intriguing prospect at the pro level. Morgan would be a solid Day 3 selection for the Bears.
