Josh Hendershot was only in Ann Arbor for one year, but he parlayed his behind the scenes role for something of a job promotion.
A former offensive lineman at the University of Toledo, Hendershot joined the Michigan football staff as a grad assistant last year. His solitary season with the Wolverines proved useful, as he didn’t just move from grad assistant to an analyst position.
He announced on Twitter on Friday that he’s accepted a role as offensive line coach and run game coordinator with Dayton, a Division I FCS program in the Pioneer League.
I’m extremely proud to announce that I am joining the University of Dayton football program as Offensive Line Coach & Run Game Coordinator! Thank you to everyone at Michigan for the support! I can’t wait to get started at UD & join the Flyer football tradition! #GoFlyers

Hendershot was often mentioned by Michigan’s offensive linemen as well as prospective recruits as a great mind in his arena.
While he’ll assuredly be missed on that front, it’s always exciting to see a rising star in coaching get his first big opportunity.
