The Arizona Cardinals could select a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL draft in April with the eighth overall pick. Many believe there are three players at the position who will warrant consideration. There is Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb, Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Alabama’s Henry Ruggs.
At the NFL combine, they all ran the 40-yards dash and performed other positional drills and agility tests on Thursday.
How do the three measure up against one another?
Physical traits
Jeudy measured at 6-1, 193 pounds with 9 1/2-in hands, 32 1/8-in arms and a 76-in wingspan.
Lamb is a tad taller at 6-1 5/8 and a little heavier at 198 pounds. He has 9 1/4-in hands, 32 1/4-in arms and a 76 5/8-in wingspan.
Essentially, the two are built almost identically.
Ruggs is a little smaller at 5-11 and 188 pounds, but he has huge 10 1/8-in hands. He has 30 1/2-in arms and a 74 1/2-in wingspan.
Combine drills
Lamb was the only of the three to do the bench press. He had 11 reps of 225 pounds.
In the 40-yard dash, Ruggs was the expected winner. He posted the best time of the combine so far at 4.27 seconds. Jeudy ran it in 4.45 seconds. Lamb’s time was the slowest at 4.50 seconds.
Ruggs also posted the best vertical leap at 42 inches. Jeudy was next at 35 inches and Lamb just behind him at 34.5 inches.
In the broad jump, Ruggs was again the best, posting a 10-foot-11 jump. Lamb was next at 10-foot-4 and Jeudy was an even 10 feet.
None of them ran the three-cone and only Jeudy ran the short shuttle, posting a time of 4.53 seconds.
