The CBA standoff has helped create a standstill within the Cincinnati Bengals when it comes to A.J. Green and Joe Mixon.
According to Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the CBA talks have stalled negotiations with both Green and Mixon.
That’s a jarring issue for a Bengals team working with limited time to get both contracts done. The franchise tag window opened today and Green is a prime candidate at about $18.4 million to receive the tag.
As for Mixon, the fact he has just one year left on his deal could mean his reps and the Bengals are on their way to a holdout situation this offseason.
This is the first instance we’ve heard of the CBA negotiations having a direct impact on the happenings within Paul Brown Stadium. It’s not an ideal factor to have hanging over already complicated negotiations as it is, so keep a close eye on the CBA news as it progresses over the weekend.
Ongoing discussions regarding a potential new CBA have stalled contract negotiations with key Bengals players like A.J. Green and Joe Mixon, per sources. The team plans to franchise tag Green if a long-term deal isn't reached. Mixon is entering the final year of his contract.
