Steelers continue to show interest in Michigan LB Khaleke Hudson

Pittsburgh continues to touch base with a variety of prospects at the scouting combine.

The current trend in the NFL is to find players, especially on defense, who can be a moving chess piece and fill a variety of positions or roles. The Pittsburgh Steelers actually have one of the very best in the NFL in safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. But one may not be enough.

According to Steelers writer Joe Rutter, Michigan defensive back/linebacker Khaleke Hudson did meet with the Steelers at the NFL Scouting Combine. Hudson has been all over the field for the Wolverines defense from edge rusher to more traditional linebacker and even nickel cornerback and safety.

Where would Hudson fit with the Steelers? We can dig into that more as the draft approaches but at 6 feet tall and around 220 pounds he sounds like he’d be the replacement for Sean Davis more than Mark Barron. Hard to imagine Pittsburgh would dedicate a pick to him as an edge rusher with his lack of size.
