Broncos open to talking with Tom Brady but are happy with Drew Lock

Broncos GM John Elway is open to talking with free agent QB Tom Brady but he noted that Denver is happy with Drew Lock.

Broncos general manager John Elway has often said that the team is open to talking to anyone and exploring all possibilities. He means it.

During his media availability at the NFL combine on Tuesday, Elway was asked if the team will take a look at free agent quarterback Tom Brady.

“We’d always talk to him but we’re pretty happy with Drew [Lock],” Elway said, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Because of Brady’s age and contract demands, he seems highly unlikely to land in Denver. Elway will do his due diligence, though.

Not including the Patriots, Denver is considered the 12-most likely team to sign Brady this offseason, according to oddsmakers. The Broncos have 18/1 odds but it probably wouldn’t be a smart bet to make.

Denver appears poised to move forward with Lock, who went 4-1 as a starter to close out the 2019 season. Brady, 42, is entering his 21st year in the league.
