Tanner Tredaway wins Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week

Oklahoma’s center fielder was on an absolute tear last week. Tanner Tredaway was named the Big 12’s Player of the Week.

Oklahoma’s center fielder was on an absolute tear last week.

Tanner Tredaway started red hot and finished the same as the Sooners went 5-1 against Texas Southern in a two-game, mid-week series and Illinois State in a four-game series on the weekend.

The junior went .500 (12-for-24) in the six games with a staggering 1.125 slugging percentage. He had three triples, two home runs, a handful of doubles and scored seven times.

Tredaway has hit at the top of the lineup and in the middle of the lineup through the first two weeks of action. He leads Oklahoma players with five or more starts in batting average, slugging percentage and runs scored.

The Sooners are going to need Tredaway to not cool off as they have their first big test of the season this weekend in Houston.

Oklahoma will take on No. 7/9 Arkansas on Friday, Missouri on Saturday and No. 11/14 LSU on Sunday at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic. The games will be played at Minute Maid Park, the home of the Houston Astros.
