You already knew that former Michigan football running back De’Veon Smith was tough. That was his M.O. during his time in Ann Arbor.
Now the world is getting to know, too.
Smith had a short NFL career, but is having a career resurgence now with the upstart XFL, as a selectee by the Tampa Bay Vipers.
Through two games, Smith is second in the league with 125 rushing yards, but on Saturday, it was a play with his hands that is drawing attention.
With the Vipers taking on Houston, Smith ran out of the backfield on a fly route, and reeled in a pass over his shoulder. But, as he came down with the football, he sustained a massive hit, yet still hung onto the ball.
No one can ever question his toughness.
