From the start of the 2019-20 season, Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have said the superstar forward is not expected to play this year. As much as that’s more of a “no” than a “yes,” the Nets left a little room for hope with their answer to the question, “Will Kevin Durant play in 2019-20?”
And since the videos of Durant’s progress throughout his rehab look promising, it’s easy for any fan of the forward to get their hopes up.
But now there doesn’t seem to be any room for speculation. Durant has put an end to it.
While on Bleacher Report’s “Take it There With Taylor Rooks,” Durant was asked if there’s any chance the basketball world will see his return this season:
No, I don’t think so, not for now.
Rooks then asked Durant for a firmer answer:
No. No. The best thing for me is to continue the rehab, get as strong as I can and focus on next season.
Until next year, then.
