Kendrick Perkins recently made an attempt to bury the hatchet with former teammate turned-Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant, but there’s another ex-teammate turned-Nets superstar who he clearly has no intention of mending fences with. Brooklyn’s point guard, Kyrie Irving.
The retired big man turned-ESPN NBA analyst took his latest shot at Irving when the point guard was announced as the National Basketball Players Association’s newest vice president on Monday.
Perkins was informed about Irving’s election right when the news broke toward the end of his appearance on ESPN’s ‘The Jump.’ At first, he was baffled:
What? … What? Who?
He then took things a step further:
Oh, I’m so glad I’m retired. I’m glad I started my — I’m so glad I’m out [of] the league. That’s all I got to say. Because I’m going to tell you: that’s the blind leading the blind.
Hard to imagine this will be the last time Perkins criticizes Irving.
