Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons perform well for Sixers in All-star game

Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons represent the Philadelphia 76ers well in the All-Star game.

The NBA’s best descended upon Chicago on Sunday night to participate in the most glorious pickup game of all time. The Philadelphia 76ers were represented well as Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons took their talents to the United Center.

Embiid played for Team Giannis and he had 22 points and 10 rebounds while Simmons played for Team LeBron and had a solid game of 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Simmons had himself a few highlight lobs on the night and he also had two steals as he decided to play some defense in this glorified exhibition.

It was not until the fourth quarter when it turned into an actual NBA game. The intensity turned up to an impressive level as it was untimed and the teams were playing for a target score of 157 and trying to win money for the charity they were representing. Team LeBron ended up winning it 157-155 over Team Giannis as Anthony Davis made the game-winning free-throw for Team LeBron.

Embiid also had a few highlights of his own as he was not alone in that department.

The All-Star game was competitive, for once, in the fourth and it was a great showcase for the league’s best talent. Embiid and Simmons had good games, they had fun, and they came out unscathed which is the most important thing.

Now, they will return home as the Sixers get back to work on Thursday when they host the Brooklyn Nets. [lawrence-related id=25965,25953,25944]
