The day before the Super Bowl, Tom Brady sent out a tweet that had many thinking he might announce his retirement. It turned out the tweet was a tease for a Super Bowl commercial for Hulu in which he said: “I’m not going anywhere.” What that means in terms of whether he will return to the Patriots is unclear. But it certainly means he won’t be retiring from football.
At the age of 42, Brady is looking to keep playing football. So, of course, Vegas oddsmakers put out some numbers on that.
There are two sets of numbers. There are the odds on if he’ll be with the Patriots this coming season. Those odds are set at -250 versus +170 that he won’t be, depending on the sportsbook.
The second set of numbers are the odds of which team he would play for should he and the Patriots part ways. Topping those odds are the Raiders and Chargers at +300 via various sportsbooks.
The Raiders have been rumored to have interest in Brady should he become available. And the initial reports came from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who is not one to go around spreading false rumors. If there turns out to be something to it, the Raiders would likely then put Derek Carr on the trade block.
As for the Chargers, they have officially parted ways with Philip Rivers after 16 years, so they are clearly in the market for a quarterback.
Both teams would have Brady, a California native, returning to the West Coast to finish his career after spending his entire 20-year career on the East Coast.
These are the full odds, according to Oddsshark.
