Can the Washington Redskins pull a San Francisco 49ers and pick second overall before leaping to the Super Bowl?
Taking into account the potential addition of Chase Young and the Ron Rivera factor, NFL Network’s Michael Robinson thinks it’s entirely possible:
“I think Ron Rivera is going to add a little bit different flavor to this locker room and I think they’re going to get Chase Young out of Ohio State…Ron Rivera, his ability to be able to bring people together, I think Trent Williams walks back into that locker room, they have their future Hall of Fame left tackle back and this team goes to the Super Bowl.”
While the Super Bowl might be aiming a bit high for a team that hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2015, it’s hard not to be encouraged by the talent coming via the second pick and a culture change headed up by Rivera.
If Rivera’s purported impact, Chase Young’s talent and the return of a star like Trent Williams align, who knows?
