NBA Rising Stars: Zion Williamson favored to win MVP award

Selected as an injury replacement for Wendell Carter Jr., Zion Williamson is the favorite to win MVP in the NBA Rising Stars.

New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson is the favorite to win the MVP award in the 2020 NBA Rising Stars game on Friday night during All-Star Weekend in Chicago.

The 26th Rising Stars game will pit 10 first- and second-year NBA players from the United States against 10 first- and second-year NBA players from around the world in the league’s annual showcase.

Williamson was selected as a replacement player for Wendell Carter Jr. after the Chicago Bulls center suffered a sprained right ankle on Jan. 6. Carter is not expected to return until after the All-Star break.

The No. 1 overall pick is the clear favorite to win the MVP award with Ja Morant in second and Luka Doncic and Trae Young each in third at 5/1 to win.
