Former UFC women’s flyweight title challenger [autotag]Jessica Eye[/autotag] underwent successful elbow surgery Wednesday.
Eye (15-7 MMA, 5-6 UFC) took to Instagram to share the news, describing the surgery as a long overdue procedure that she says should keep her out of action for around four weeks.
“Heys guys, Update surgery went great!! I Had a little work done on my elbow that’s long over due . I will be back in the gym working on Monday like always and working hard to be a better me 🦄 thanks for all the love 💘 #eyebelieve”
After failing to capture the UFC’s 125-pound title in a knockout loss to champion Valentina Shevchenko at this past June’s UFC 238, Eye rebounded with a unanimous decision over Viviane Araujo at December’s UFC 245, upsetting the highly-touted Brazilian. Since dropping down to flyweight, Eye has won four of her last five, losing only to the reigning champion.
