Representing your country in the Olympics is one of the highest honors an athlete can ever have. So when you have the opportunity to do so, it’s always a thrill for anybody.
For Philadelphia 76ers veteran forward Tobias Harris, he was named one of the 44 finalists for the U.S. Men’s Olympic team for 2020 and he is ready for this opportunity going forward. Harris was selected to play for the U.S. team in the FIBA World Cup, but he was not able to do so as he had other things pull him in other directions.
“It was an excitement for me,” he said at practice on Monday. “Obviously, I wasn’t able to participate last summer, but definitely a dream and a goal of mine. This summer, I’ll look to just go out there and work my butt off and see what happens. It’s definitely exciting and a blessing to be a part of it.”
Harris is having a solid season in Philadelphia averaging 19.1 points and shooting 36.7% from deep as he continues to take steps forward in his offensive game. [lawrence-related id=25505,25496,25477]
