Report: Quinton Dunbar looking for team to ‘commit long-term’

Dunbar reportedly wishes to find a team that will commit to him long term, should the Redskins grant his trade request.

The Washington Redskins fanbase is reeling now that news broke about cornerback Quinton Dunbar’s trade request from the team.

It seemingly caught everyone off guard, a bit, as Dunbar was coming off of a career year and likely to be one of the staples of a solid defense under DC Jack Del Rio in 2020. Nonetheless, it seems that Dunbar’s declaration that he wouldn’t be attending OTAs this spring was only foreshadowing of what was to come: Dunbar wants out, and he wants to be wanted on his new team.

According to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, Dunbar said that he is looking for a team that will commit to him long term.

Under the old regime in Washington, with Bruce Allen at the head, Dunbar had reportedly been in some contract talks and was nearing an extension, but those talks apparently hadn’t been progressed forwards much with the new front office in place.
