For Glenn Robinson III, this is a new chapter in his life. He is returning to the Philadelphia 76ers after being on the team in his rookie season in the 2014-15 season.
At the time, the Sixers were one of the worst teams in the league as they were going through “The Process”, but now he’s ready to help a championship team in his return to Philly. He was having a terrific season with the Golden State Warriors shooting 40% from deep with the team.
“I was excited,” he said. “Obviously, I was having a great year with the Warriors and things were going great there, they’re a great organization, but I think that I was definitely excited to be able to help this team.”
There is one difference that stands out in his mind when returning and that is to finally play with Joel Embiid. The big man was dealing with foot injuries his first two seasons in the league and he was not able to play while Robinson was with the team in his first go around.
“When I was here my rookie year, JoJo was still hurt coming back from injury,” he continued. “We would just play 3-on-3 every day and that’s when I knew he was going to be a great player before the league really got a chance to see him on an NBA court. So I’m really looking forward to getting back out there with him.”
Robinson III will make his Sixers debut on Sunday when the Sixers take on the Chicago Bulls at 6:00 p.m. EST and he will finally be able to play with Embiid on an NBA court. [lawrence-related id=25322,25312,25302]
