The Los Angeles Lakers lost on Thursday to the Houston Rockets but the game featured one of the best dunks of LeBron’s storied career. After receiving an outlet pass from Anthony Davis, James converted a two-handed reverse windmill that was strikingly similar to the same slam Kobe Bryant brought down the Staples Center with 19 years ago.
Following the Lakers victory on Saturday over the Golden State Warriors, LeBron discussed that dunk and the inspiration behind it. According to King James, he did not predetermine the dunk. He just left his feet and figured it out from there. The dunk just ended up looking the same as Bryant’s, according to LeBron, because “Kobe is in all of us right now.”

“I didn’t really predetermine that until I jumped,” LeBron explained to reporters about the dunk on Saturday. “I just jumped and then kinda figured it out.
“It’s crazy how it’s the same exact dunk on the same exact hoop that Kobe did 19 years ago. When I saw it for the first time, I was like wow. Our great social media team put that together and I was like that’s really, really good. I was watching social media and my son did it during warmups today too. He didn’t do in the game, but he did it in warmups.
“Kobe is in all of us right now.”
James went on to add that it’s awesome for that moment to be a part of his history and something he now shares with Bryant. He was also glad he could do it in a Laker uniform.
“It’s crazy,” LeBron added. “I was a high school junior when Kobe did that dunk. I probably was watching the game or working on my game. For that to now be a part of my history, the correlation between me and Kobe is pretty awesome.
“I’m glad I did it in a Laker uniform on that end of the floor.”
