The UFC celebrated [autotag]Kobe Bryant[/autotag] on Saturday night.
Prior to the pay-per-view main card of UFC 247, the promotion paid tribute to Bryant, whose death in a helicopter crash shocked the world. Bryant, along with his daughter 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others, died on Jan. 26 in Calabasas, Calif.
Bryant, five-time NBA champion and three-time league MVP, was a legend in the sports world. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar impacted many athletes, including MMA fighters, with his fierce competitive spirit and approach to challenges with his “Mamba mentality.” Bryant was a partner of UFC sponsor Body Armor. UFC president Dana White revealed earlier this week that Bryant was an investor in the company.
