San Diego State keep on winning.

46.4 percent from the field. 40 percent from beyond the arc. Sixteen assists, 32 rebounds, 10 offensive boards, and 74 points. Those were the stats for the Air Force Falcons in a night where they lost by 15 points.

How?

They faced off against the #4 team in the nation, which outshot the Falcons handily from every spot on the court. In the end the Aztecs walked away with #24 and an 89-74 victory.

The first half was a sloppy one for San Diego State as the Aztecs had six turnovers. Their defense was not playing up to par, possibly because of the altitude, and allowed 34 points to a hot shooting Falcons squad.

But the Aztecs, as they always do, found a way to stay in it behind Jordan Schakel who had 13 points, with only one shot coming from behind the arc. Schakel led the team to a seven-point lead in a hard-fought first half.

In the second half, it appeared that the Falcons would shoot their way into a lead behind Chris Joyce and Lavelle Scottie, who each scored in double figures. They brought the Falcons within three points, however, the Aztecs never let them get closer. Two things kept the Aztecs out front; first they did not turn the ball over and second they shot 57.1% from the field.

After a sluggish first half where he only scored four points, Malachi Flynn got going in the second and scored 13 and the Aztecs weathered foul trouble to get the win.

Joyce led the Falcons with a career night and game high 23 points and five assists. Scottie finished with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Morris had 12 points and Sid Tomes had 10 to complete the Air Force, double-digit scorers.

KJ Feagin continued his hot streak of scoring 15+ points for the third straight game after finishing with a team high 21 points. Schakel finished with 18 points. Flynn flirted with a triple double, ending the game with 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Matt Mitchell was the final Aztecs in double digits, finishing with 16 points on 5-6 shooting.
