The Kansas City Chiefs are your Super Bowl LIV champions. While folks in Kansas City are still celebrating the franchises first Super Bowl win in 50 years, the team is already back at work preparing for the 2020 NFL season.
The new league year, the start of the free agency period and the 2020 NFL Draft all arrive later this spring. However, there are a few important dates and times that start in the month of February that Chiefs fans should keep their eyes on. Here’s a look at the upcoming NFL calendar and what fans should be aware of.
February NFL calendar of events
February 3: 2020 NFL waiver system begins (Chiefs will be last in waiver order).
February 11: Beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT, NFL clubs may begin to sign CFL players whose contracts have expired. Those under contract to a CFL team for the 2020 season or who have an option for the 2020 season are not eligible to be signed to the NFL.
February 24 – March 2: The NFL Scouting Combine kicks off from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana (we’ll be there).
February 25: Marks the first day that teams can use the franchise tag or transition tag on players (keep your eyes on Chiefs DT Chris Jones).
