The Nevada Wolf Pack return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host the San Jose State Spartans.
The Wolf Pack are coming into this contest fresh off of thumping Air Force 88-54 on Tuesday night. In that contest, guard Jalen Harris had a stellar night as he scored a career high 38 points off of 12 of 21 shooting. In that 12 of 21 shooting performance, Harris also went 6 of 8 from the three point line as Harris scored 30 points for the second straight game and its his fifth time scoring 30 points for the season.
Helping out in the scoring department for Nevada was guard Nisre Zouzoua. Zouzoua scored 15 points on Tuesday night against the Falcons. As a team, the Wolf Pack shot a little over 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from the three point line. The Nevada offense was firing on all cylinders in the win over Air Force on Tuesday night.
The Wolf Pack are taking on a San Jose State team coming off a 71-66 loss to Wyoming last Saturday. With the loss to the Cowboys, the Spartans have lost five of their last six games as they are struggling through another lost season.
For the Spartans, guard Seneca Knight is the key player for the Wolf Pack to focus on. Knight leads the Spartans in scoring as he is averaging 15 points per game this season. Knight scored a career high 28 points in San Jose State’s upset victory over Nevada 70-68 back on January 9th in San Jose.
The Wolf Pack offense and especially Jalen Harris is playing very well coming into this contest against a Spartans team that has lost 26 straight conference road games and is currently 1-8 on the road this season. Nevada struggled in their last contest against the Spartans last month but given the stellar play of the Wolf Pack offense. Nevada should not have a problem taking on the San Jose State this time on Saturday.
