Josh Richardson led Sixers in players only meeting after latest loss

Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson led a players-only meeting after their latest loss.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the more maddening and befuddling teams in the league. They are definitely in the conversation of contending for a championship, but they have been so up and down. They have impressive wins and they also have some of the worst losses in the league.

After an embarrassing loss to the Miami Heat on Monday, somebody had to step up and lead a change. That guy was injured guard Josh Richardson who wanted to bring everybody together and talk about things.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Richardson gathered everybody around for a players-only meeting and made it known that it starts with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. For them to get after it and get to an NBA title, the improvement needs to come from within.

Richardson spent time with the Heat before coming over to Philadelphia and he has played with Dwyane Wade so he has seen what it takes to win. The Heat only went as far as the semifinals with Richardson in tow, but playing with Wade has its advantages.

The Sixers are in Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Thursday looking to avoid a winless road trip. [lawrence-related id=25085,25077,25039]
