It finally happened. Andre Iguodala is out of basketball purgatory — he was sitting out with the Memphis Grizzlies while awaiting a trade to a contender — and off to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.
There’s only one down side, and it has to do with the team he left behind.
Earlier in the week, Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks told the media “I cant wait til we find a way to trade him so we can play him and show him really what Memphis is about.” His teammate, star rookie Ja Morant, basically agreed on Twitter and ignited a social media fight with Steph Curry. Brooks even delivered one more parting shot after reports of the deal that will eventually send Justise Winslow to Memphis:

Well, we were robbed, at least in 2020. The Grizzlies already played the Heat twice.
When does Miami play the grizzlies 🤣

Sadly, we won’t get to see Iguodala attempt to lock down Brooks or Morant until next season. Bummer.
