Steelers sign GM Kevin Colbert to one-year contract extension

Pittsburgh gets their GM back for one more season.

For whatever reason, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert didn’t want to work out a new contract extension during the last offseason, instead working on his final year. But with just over two months left on his current deal, the team announced they are bringing Colbert back for one more year.

This will be Colbert’s tenth season as the team’s general manager and 20th overall with Pittsburgh. Colbert was director of player personnel from 2000-2010. In 2010 he became general manager and in 2016 was also named team vice president.

Colbert has built a strong reputation for his ability to draft talent. He’s been part of two Super Bowl championship teams in Pittsburgh.
