There was a big Super Bowl debut on Sunday at LIV.
It was the premiere of FOX’s new graphics package, which included a spiffy new scoring bug — that’s the name for that thing that sits on your screen and tells you the score, the time left, timeouts, etc. — and some other stuff (cartoon sketches of players!).
NFL fans gave it mixed reviews, but it felt generally positive, no huge trending “WHAT IS THAT?!” moments. It’s certainly more economical than their last scoring bug that spread much wider across the bottom of the screen.
Here’s what the new one looked like:

If you’re a TV nut like me, you notice things like the evolution of the FOX scoring graphic. pic.twitter.com/FKgH7QJdia

And some reviews:
Fox's new touchdown graphic seems a bit excessive pic.twitter.com/AdbXOAgUzA

FOX, the Superbowl is NOT the time to test your new score graphic pic.twitter.com/dxoXV06Eh8

Don’t let the Chiefs touchdown distract you from this Fox graphic pic.twitter.com/CMlwrjNfpc

This Fox score bug looks good but I hope they don’t run that cartoon touchdown graphic ever again

I don't know…I kinda dig FOX's comic book aesthetic during the broadcast. Fits the graphic presentation and feel around Miami. https://t.co/IAURyk683O
