Heading into the NFL Honors for the 2019 season it seemed as if the Offensive Rookie of the Year award was between two worthy candidates: Josh Jacobs, former Alabama running back now leading the charge for the Raiders, and AJ Brown, the former Ole Miss wide receiver now a star on the Titans.
However, the award was given to former Heisman-winning quarterback out of Oklahoma, Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals.
Many NFL fans have taken to Twitter to voice their dissatisfaction with Murray being named the recipient, heres what they had to say:
Josh Jacobs missing out on NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was nothing short of a slight (via @BairNBCS)https://t.co/moqv47mCxp pic.twitter.com/0ECHlOT7CV

NBC getting in on the action, calling it “a slight.”

I’d say this was the face of many NFL fans around the league.
Felt like @Raiders Josh Jacobs was easily the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, but obviously others felt differently. Hard to figure that one out.

We can’t figure this one out either, Vincent.

Stephen A. Smith’s reaction may very well be all of ours.
Josh Jacobs not winning Offensive Rookie of the year is laughable.
Congrats to Kyler Murray in all but c’mon man…
I didn’t realize the NFL refs do the voting for these types of awards.

Maybe it’s time to bring back the replacement refs?
#Raiders rookie RB Josh Jacobs led all 2019 offensive rookies with an 87.2 overall grade this year.
His Elusive Rating of 103.6 led all NFL RBs with at least 50% of their teams carries.#RaiderNation https://t.co/39aUedY3md

PFF bringing some stats to the conversation.
A quarterback led his team to 5 wins and he won OROY I don’t even know what to say
Josh Jacobs the OROY in all of our hearts #RaiderNation

It’s alright.
Josh Jacobs will have the last laugh when he’s MVP next year.
Yeah. I went there. #RaiderNation pic.twitter.com/ND5uVz5W1U

Bold prediction right here for the 2020 season.
Josh Jacobs was robbed. Not that he cares much about individual awards. I’m just saying.

Someone please explain how Josh Jacobs didn’t win OROY? 😒
