Video: PRIDE rules implemented in saddest street fight ever

Fight fans in 2020 are spoiled when it comes to great fights – but this isn’t one of them.

As fight fans in the year 2020, we’re spoiled with the number of high-level bouts we’re able to watch on a regular basis.

Now that I think about it, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to make the fight Gods happy by watching a piece of their less-appreciated work. Right?

I think I’ve stumbled across just the clip.

Two (likely impaired, according to an onlooker) neighbors began arguing in Buriram, Thailand earlier this month. It didn’t take long before the two men were fighting – or at least giving their best attempt at it.

Both men had their moments in this back-and-forth affair (which you can watch above). Shortly after the opening bell, the red corner fighter got a takedown on his first attempt. From there, the red corner fighter landed a big body kick to the stomach. Unfazed, the blue corner fighter tripped his opponent and ended up on top.

The fight eventually raised back to the feet, the momentum shifting. The pivotal moment came around the one-minute mark, when the red corner fighter took advantage of the implemented PRIDE ruleset and landed a brutal soccer kick. The follow-up shots weren’t necessary, but no referee was there to intervene.

Post-fight, neither neighbor was available for an in-street interview. However, the onlooker provided comment.

”I shouted at them to stop fighting, but they carried on for almost three minutes,” Songpon Anan said. “I wasn’t worried about them hurting each other. It was quite funny and probably the worst muay Thai boxing skills I have ever seen.”
